EDGE Capable
EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) is a major enhancement of existing GPRS technology which supports raw data rates of up to 236kb/s with public networks commonly achieving speeds of up to 177kb/s
This extends the range of applications in which the Saro 5100 can be used. Surveillance cameras, leased line fallback and internet access, all benefit from the speed of EDGE.
Dual SIM
The Saro 5100 has dual SIM capability enabling it to be used in truly mission critical applications where network failures or coverage issues are not acceptable.
This feature can also be used where a mobile device regularly commutes between two physical locations to avoid roaming charges.
VPN Built-In
A built-in VPN client and stateful inspection firewall allows the unit to set up VPN tunnels with remote devices. DES,3DES and AES encryption allow tunnelling over the internet with complete security.
Tunnelling allows allows the freedom to allocate your own IP addressing scheme to the router and devices attached to it, without having to rely on the mobile network's dynamic IP addressing scheme.
