Description:
Gabions are filled with rock at the project site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures such as retaining walls, channel linings and weirs for erosion control projects. They are usually used for sea and lake shore protection, river training, erosion control, soil retention and road and railway constructions etc.The steel wire used in the manufacture of the gabion is heavily zinc coated. If required, a 0,5-1 mm nominal thick PVC coating is then extruded over the galvanised wire to provide added protection for use in aggressive environments with acidic soils and water, in salt or fresh water or wherever the risk of corrosion is present. In order to reinforce the structure, all mesh panel edges are selvedged with a wire having a greater diameter than the mesh wire. The gabion is divided into cells by means of diaphragms positioned at approximately 1m centres. We can offer a wide variety of gabions with mesh openings of 60X80 , 80X100 , 80X120,80x140, 100x120, 120x150 & 200X260mm and with wire thicknesses ranging from 2.00mm to 3.4mm. The possible coatings are Heavily Galvanized (acc.to BS1052/80, EN10244-2, DIN1548 and ASTM) and ZincAl. For high corrosion resistance, PVC coated wire is available. That is to say, The mesh wire can be depending on the application and the requirement.
