Specifications: Many computer systems use a UPS to protect the system from power failure and data loss. Actually, the UPS can only provide limited batterybackup. Xbmon is a UPS monitor utility, which detects the status of the UPSthrough S232 port. When apowerfailure occurs, Xbmon gets the failure signal and sends out warning messages. When a preset time is reached, Xbmon will try to close all the applications, shut down Windows and turn off the UPS power. If the UPS goes into a battery low condition, Xbmon will shut down the system immediately. If power is restored after UPS shutdown, the UPS turns the PC power back on which then goes through its normal bootup procedure.
